Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from San Diego State University in 1978, graduating with Highest Honors and Distinction. He has over 25 years of experience as a CPA, offering accounting and tax consultation, planning and compliance services to individuals and non-public businesses. Doug is also a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner offering financial services through the affiliated Redwitz Wealth Management Group, and is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), serving the accounting and tax needs of construction contractors.

Doug began his accounting career with the San Diego office of KPMG, and later with San Diego local CPA firms before joining Coradino, Hickey and Hanson (CHH) in 2004. At the time of the CHH merger in 2005 with Robert R. Redwitz & Co., an Accounting and Consulting Corporation, Doug was a Senior Manager specializing in sophisticated tax planning and accounting for construction contractors, manufacturers and their owners. In October of 2006, Doug was admitted into the accounting firm as a principal.

Doug is a member if the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He lives in Santee, CA with his wife, Joy, and Seth, their son. He is an active charter member and Trustee of the Santee Church of Christ. In his spare time he enjoys deep bible study, church history, and rooting for his beloved San Diego Padres baseball team.
